Spiritual Toolbox-A Barefoot Suggestion   Leave a comment

A Simple Way to Connect to the Energy of the Earth-Kandis Twa

Healthy feet can feel the very heart of Mother Earth”

-Sitting Bull

Now we know that this is not the time of year (especially for those of us living at northern latitudes) when we start thinking about fewer layers of clothing, but perhaps you will consider taking your shoes off? This is what we have found:

Wearing shoes cuts you off from your own energy.

Walking barefoot stimulates all of the organs in your body through the principles of reflexology.

Rubbing your bare feet on the floor instantly grounds you into your body.

Walking barefoot allows you to be balanced and brings your whole body into alignment.

Your body eliminates a lot of toxins through the bottom of your feet, not wearing shoes or socks means that you can leave these toxins behind rather than walking around in them all day.

Shoes can be a problem because they are not necessarily well made for your feet. Ideally your shoes would be custom made for your feet, but if this is not possible, then you can buy insoles which will support your feet and allow you to feel more balanced when you are walking around.

Here at Pure Leadership, we are a barefoot office. It took a little while to get used to but it is amazing how much better you feel at the end of the day when your feet haven’t been jammed into tight shoes all day! We even ask people who come to visit us to remove their shoes. We have slippers as a courtesy however nobody uses them. It is quite funny to see these wonderful business men in their suits and ties with no shoes on! Nobody complains of cold feet but we haven’t been as brave as this woman to venture into the snow shoeless.

So, take those shoes and socks off, rub your feet on the ground, and take a deep breath!
