How this cosmic event affects you
“This is not the beginning of the end, but the end of the beginning” ~Winston Churchill
As we approach the lunar eclipse this Saturday here is an overview of the themes and significance of this special cosmic event from Margaret Grey of “Cosmic Intelligence Agency”
This Lunar Eclipse marks the final ending of the planetary ‘marathon’ which started in June 2012 for all of us both individually and globally. Although the last exact Uranus Pluto square was on March 17th 2015, the fact that this Eclipse lands within 1’ of that point, marks the crossing of the finishing line for us all.
As with any Marathon, crossing the finishing line marks the end of a phase and the start of a new one. The new phase carries with it echoes of the process we went through during the Marathon. This may include sore muscles, tendons, dehydration, tiredness etc. Similarly, the next few years are going to entail recuperation, as well as an integration of the changes we made over the past 3 years. But right now our focus is on the Lunar Eclipse itself.
What is a Lunar Eclipse:
A Lunar Eclipse can only occur during a Full Moon. During a Full Moon, the Solar light of consciousness illuminates emotions that surface from deep within our unconscious. However, during a Lunar Eclipse, Earth stands in the way of this illumination. Hence, we are momentarily left immersed in total darkness, in our newly surfaced emotions. Although this is only temporary, it can help to have some tools at hand to manage and contain the emotions that come to the surface, until the Moon moves out of the shadow of the Earth. In doing so, the Sun can shine once more onto our emotions enabling them to be consciously integrated.
Some interesting things about this lunar eclipse:
This is the 3rd of 5 Lunar Eclipses on the Libra/Aries axis. The first two were in Oct 18 2013 and Oct 8 2014 The last two will be in Sept 28 2015 and March 23rd The underlying core theme of Eclipses on this Axis is the integration and balance of ‘self’ and ‘other’. How can we be fair and just with others whilst respecting who we are? As they are Cardinal signs, the emphasis is on leadership and action. However, it is interesting to note that within this Aries/Libra series, this Lunar Eclipse and the one in March 2016 are the only two that are in Libra. The others are all in Aries with the opposing Sun in Libra. This emphasizes the theme of balance and fairness with others versus self-focus. This is further enhanced by the conjunction with the North Node at 10’ Libra, as well as the sextile from Jupiter in Leo. Hence we are invited to be the peaceful civilized mediator rather than the uncouth warrior.

When and where will the eclipse be visible?
For those of us in Western North America, we’ll be able to see the start of the eclipse as it enters the earth’s penumbra (outer shadow), at 4:15 am MST. The moon enters the deepest part of the shadow at 6:02 a.m. just before slipping below the horizon. The further east you live, the more easily you will be able to see the eclipse, as the moon will be higher in the sky when the event occurs. Viewers on the west coast will be able to partially see the eclipse before the moon sets.
Sarah Varcas from Astro-Awakenings shares the associated astrology of the eclipse:
“The first week of April is a good time to review the landscape of our life: material circumstances, relationships, activities, anything and everything which populates the space of our everyday existence. Having done so we can ask ourselves ‘What of me is reflected in this?’.
It is no longer enough to point the finger out there, be it at other people, fate or plain old bad luck and divest oneself of agency in one’s own life. What we see when we look out reflects aspects of what we see when we look in.
The more willing we are to observe in this way the greater the insight gained into what this new cycle asks of us in the coming years. We encounter nothing in life which does not have the capacity to wake us up to who we are, to reveal and unfold aspects of both our false and real selves.
Whatever we encounter, be it welcome or otherwise, can be used as a mirror to show us something of who we are and how we can edge ever deeper into the field of the sacred in which true power resides. Power to relinquish all that holds us back from expressing our authentic self and allowing others to do the same.
The Lunar Eclipse in Libra on 4th April bids us reflect rather than respond. It highlights instinctive behaviors born of old habits and past experience.
The discomfort of not quite knowing where we’re headed at the moment, the blank slate of possibility or a sense of restlessness that demands a response, can all seduce us into action now, regretted further down the line. Temperance is needed, patience, and a willingness to allow life its own timing. This is a time for deep listening not rash decisions. A time to sit in the silence and allow inner wisdom to bubble to the surface, for it knows all that we need and is the most compassionate arbiter of our life.
This new cycle, so fresh in its infancy, will require a deep and abiding relationship with our inner sage and this eclipse is our first opportunity to demonstrate just how committed we are to our side of the bargain!

Tools for managing emotions:
At times like these I find that this prayer, from our friends at Wings Alive to be very helpful with clearing out any old negative emotions of thought patterns that will arise during an eclipse. These events provide the opportunity to move through a lot of clearing very quickly, allowing you to catapult forward in your life.
God, take _________ from me now,
Every energy, frequency, vibration,
Every thought, feeling and belief system,
Every pattern and program, contract or agreement,
Mine or anyone else’s from this lifetime or any other lifetime,
And take it from my DNA.Take it from me now and replace it with _______________
(the light of your love, angelic healing, etc.)And so it is done.
Amen.Courtesy of Wings Alive 2015 All Rights Reserved
